Affiliate membership is open to all and is not a professional grade of membership.

Student membership is for those thinking of studying a CIPD-approved qualification or those already on an approved qualification. It will give you access to a range of member benefits and resources that are essential to your study success.
Associate Member is for individuals already supporting the HR and L&D function or for those looking to start their career. It’s our first level of professional membership and carries the designation, Assoc CIPD.
Chartered Member is for experienced professionals managing, developing and implementing HR and L&D policies within their organisations. It’s our second level of professional membership and carries the designation, Chartered MCIPD.
Chartered Fellow is our highest level of professional membership and carries the designation, Chartered FCIPD. It is ideal if you’re leading the development of strategic HR and L&D plans that drive business performance.
Academic membership is for individuals engaged in teaching, lecturing and research in the field of HR and L&D and provides an alternative route to professional membership.
